About this event

Cue the lights and switch on the mics! Boston University Asian Student Union (ASU) is back with our 3rd annual speaker series on Asian representation: BREAKING BOUNDARIES!

Asians and Asian Americans often find it difficult to seek out sources of inspiration due to a lack of visibility in media. ASU hopes to provide a platform to showcase stories from Asian trailblazers and to shed light on the impact that they have made within their industries to spark conversation among our community.

This year, our featured speakers include:

- The Fung Bros., Chinese-American YouTubers with over 2M subscribers, consisting of comedians David and Andrew Fung

- Lia Neal, a two-time Olympic medalist swimmer who is of African American and Chinese descent, and was the first African American woman to swim in an Olympic final

- Ritesh Rajan, an Indian-American actor known for his role as Linus Ahluwali in Stitchers and Mowgli’s father in The Jungle Book

- Opening speaker: State Representative Tram T Nguyen, the first Vietnamese-American woman in the Massachusetts Legislature, serving as the 18th Essex District in Massachusetts House of Representatives
